Virgie B. Parks

Virgie B. Parks, 87, of Windfall, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022 at Twin City Healthcare Center in Gas City surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Smiths Grove, Ky. on Sept. 20, 1934, to the late Claude and Ethel (Gibbons) Merideth.
Virgie worked for more than 23 years as a Spot Welder for Central Metal Products in Windfall.
Virgie was a Baptist all of her life.
She was a special lady, a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed telling stories to her grandchildren and listening to her children play music.
Virgie is survived by four daughters, Samantha Rush, Sheila Johnson, Lisa (husband Kevin) Tobias, and Theresa Simmons;  six grandchildren, Melissa (husband Pat) Delrymple, Jennifer (husband James) Rayle, Kasey (husband Derek) Hostetler, Kara (husband Colton) Moulder, Shane (wife Kristen) Simmons, and Eric Deckard; ten great- grandchildren; a sister Virginia Lawson; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by three children, Peggy Dulworth, Patsy Deckard, and Haskell Carter; and a granddaughter, Lindsay Tobias.
Family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood.
A funeral service to honor Virgie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 31, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Wilkenson officiating.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.
