The Tipton High School swim teams dominated in the pool on Tuesday night.
The Lady Blue Devils won all 12 events on their way to a 126-52 victory over visiting Elwood. The Lady Devils finished the season with a 7-1 record, which is the best in school history.
Tipton won 11 of 12 events in the boys meet to record its first dual meet win of the season. The Blue Devils finished with 84 points, while Elwood had 31 and Frankton 12.
Elwood’s Owen Huff was the only non-Tipton swimmer to earn a blue ribbon on Tuesday, winning the 100 backstroke (1:18.87).
GIRLS MEET
The quartet of Abi Hoover, Sophia Walker, Lylli Tragesser and Ashlyn Vehikite won both the 200 medley (2:15.69) and 400 freestyle (5:03.77) relays. The Lady Devil foursome of Jules Hoover, Amelia Servies, Sami Morris and Gwyn Morgan won the 200 free relay (2:16.25).
The Lady Devil individual winners were: Abi Hoover, 200 IM (2:38.54) and 400 free (5:15); Tragesser, 200 free (2:38.5); Vehikite, 50 free (29.51) and 100 free (1:07.95); Sami Morris, diving (195.05); Walker, 100 free (1:07.95) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.63); and Jules Hoover, 100 backstroke (1:36.05).
Tipton’s medley relay team of Reily, Servies, Jules Hoover and Morgan and the 400 free relay team of Morgan, Amelia London, Izzy Marley and Reily earned second-place finishes.
Lady Devils placing second in individual events were: Servies, 200 IM and 100 breast; London, diving; Morris, 50 free; Tragesser, 100 fly; Morgan, 100 free; and Marley, 400 free. Tipton’s third-place finishers were: Savana Morris, diving; and Reily, 200 free and 100 back.
Elwood’s top individual finish was turned in by Kennedy Perrin, who placed second in the 100 back. The Lady Panther quartet of Ellie Laub, Kenzie Cornwell, Kendra Sallee and Ryleah Loer placed second in the 200 free relay.
Addie Updegraff had a pair of third-place finishes (50 free and 100 free) as did Laub (100 fly and 200 IM). Other third-place finishers for Elwood were Brianna Lane (400 free) and Sallee (100 breast). The medley relay team of Perrin, Sallee, Alyvia Savage and Chelsea Jones also placed third as did the 200 free relay team of Olivia Simmons, Kenzie Oyler, Savannah Garcia and Jones.
BOYS MEET
Rowan Maddox, Caleb Hare, Stone Conaway and Dylan Rockwell teamed up to win the medley relay (2:18.97). Hare and Rockwell also were members, along with Drake Boyer and Ethan Stanley, on the winning 200 free relay team (2:01.19). Conaway, Maddox, Boyer and Stanley combined to win the 400 free relay (4:30.51).
Blue Devils taking home individual blue ribbons were: Boyer, 200 free (2:18.04) and 100 free (1:03.1); Stanley, 200 IM (2:32.5) and 100 butterfly (1:09.32); Conaway, 50 free (25.25) and 400 free (5:05); Rockwell, diving (171.4); and Hare, 100 breast (1:23.74).
Placing second for Tipton were Hare (200 IM) and Maddox (100 free and 100 back).
In addition to Huff’s win in the backstroke, Elwood got second-place finishes from the medley relay team of Huff, Maseman, Ethan Haas and Tyler Mendenhall, Maseman (200 free) and the 200 free relay team of Haas, Maseman, Mendenhall and Huff.
Huff also had a third-place finish in the 50 free.
Frankton’s Jack Melvin placed second in the 50 free and 100 breast and Ethan Jarvis placed third in the 100 breast.
