Thomas Lee Lewis, 91, of Elwood, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following an extended illness.
Tom was born in Harrodsburg, Ky., July 8, 1929. He was the son of the late Hubert and Ollie (Cutsinger) Lewis.
After several years of service, Tom retired in 1986, from the Indiana State Highway Department.
He enjoyed spending time in his garden, riding horses, shooting guns and playing bluegrass music on his banjo. Throughout his life, Tom was devoted to his family and treasured every moment he could share with them.
Tom is survived by his former wife, Theresa Good-night; three daughters, Margaret Lewis, BJ (Jake) Southard and Monica Miller all of Elwood; three sons, Thomas Gene (Mandy) Lewis of Alabama, Kevin (Dawn) Lewis and Jeff Lewis, both of Tipton; several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters.
Tom’s wishes were to have private family services with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a later date.
