Dwight L. Phelps

FAIRMOUNT – Dwight L. Phelps, 56, entered in to eternal rest from his residence at Hidden Lake resort on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 following an extended illness.
He was born in Anderson on Dec. 29, 1964 to Coy and Myra (Murphy) Phelps.
He was a graduate of Madison-Grant High School, Class of 1984.
He was a union brick layer and had worked in construction for several years. For the past four years, he had been the caretaker and in charge of maintenance of Hidden Lake Resort.
Survivors include his mother, Myra Phelps of Summitville; four sisters, Debby Turschman, Teresa Byrd, Ellen Meeks and Penny Phelps, all of Summitville; brother, Bruce Phelps of Elwood; six nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Susan Eaton
A gathering of friends and family in honor of Dwight’s life and legacy will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville. Private interment of Dwight’s cremains will take place in Vinson Memorial Cemetery at Summitville at the convenience of the family.
