ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Maurice “Van” VanCleave died peacefully, May 22, 2021, aged 94, surrounded by family, in St. Petersburg Fla. where he had lived since 2018.
He formerly lived in Sarasota, Fla. from 1985-2018; Lima, Ohio from 1975-1985; Elwood, Ind., from 1956-1975; Detroit, Mich. from 1948-1956; and Huntingdon, Tenn. where he was born and raised.
He served as a Seabee in the Navy on Okinawa during World War II.
He retired in 1985 as a division president after 37 years with Ex-Cell-O Corp.
He is survived by Jane, his wife of 72 years; sister, Patricia Kight; brother-in-law, John Parker; sons, Dale, Ted, and Gary; daughters-in-law, Christine and Karen; and grandsons, Mark and Luke.
