ALEXANDRIA – Mary M. (Key) Rogers, 83, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on March, 6, 1937 in Summitville, to Elmer and Margieree (Weaver) Key.
She was a graduate of Alexandria High School with the Class of 1955 and then attended Indiana Business College.
Mary retired in 1995 from the accounting department at Anderson Newspapers after 21 years of employment.
She was a longtime member of the Christian Congre-gation Church and was active in the Ladies Aide of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Uncle Bob” Rogers, whom she married Oct. 1, 1955; son, Ronald (Carolyn) Rogers of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Deborah (Shiao-Tsun) Ku of Fishers; six grandchildren, Brandt (Teresa) Rogers of Plainfield, Ill., Miranda (Jason) Stover of Urbana, Ill., Maggie (Lucas) Thomas of Mahomet, Ill., Benjamin Rogers of Fort Collins, Colo., Marissa Ku of Fort Wayne and Derek Ku of Fishers; three great-grandchildren, Rafe Rogers, Michael Eli Rogers and Natalie Ealy; sister, Ethel Schultz of Alexandria; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Irene Dockrey, Elmer Key and John Key
A graveside service honoring Mary’s life, legacy and faith will take place at noon today, Tuesday, Aug. 18 2020 at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria with Pastor Jerry Young officiating.
Social distancing and appropriate face masking will be observed.
