Rebecca L. Garrison, 77, of Atlanta, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her residence.
She was born in Tipton on Feb. 5, 1943, to the late Emmett and Louise (Fakes) Hillan.
On July 30, 1961, she married Gary Garrison and they shared 59 years of marriage together.
Rebecca was a 1961 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood.
She was a homemaker and dedicated to caring for her family and her home.
She was associated with the East Main St. Christian Church.
Rebecca was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University sports, she loved to garden, needle point, sew, work jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader.
Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Gary Garrison; four children, Tami (Tony) Hoppenrath, Tim (Jan) Garrison, Rich (Shelly) Garrison, and Cathy (Monti) Edwards; eight grandchildren, Dr. AJ Hoppenrath, David (Hay-ley) Hoppenrath, Tyler Garrison, Tiffany (Mitchell) Lovell, Levi Garrison, Wesley Garrison, McKenna Edwards and Maryan Edwards; and three great- grandchildren; Ian, Aiden, and Anthony.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Hillan; mother, Louise Hillan; and a brother, Tom Hillan.
Out of respect for personal and public safety, private funeral services for immediate family will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating.
