  Deloris M. Hunt
Deloris M. Hunt, 75, Alexandria, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
She was born on March 29, 1938 in Flemingsburg, Ky., the daughter of Leonard Saunders and Pearl (Johnston) Saunders Sharp. She had resided in Alexandria since 1977. Deloris was a graduate of Peru High School. She worked at Delco-Remy formerly of Anderson, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Anderson where her late husband, Rev. Eldon Hunt served as pastor. As with most pastors’ wives, Deloris filled many roles in the church including secretary, treasurer, music leader and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Women’s Aglow. She attended the same church, now known as By His Grace Ministries-House of Prayer of Anderson. Deloris was an avid reader, especially of the Bible and was of a giving spirit, known to help anyone out that’s in need. Her greatest enjoyment however was in the time spent with her family. She is survived by two sons, Jack (Cathy) Taylor of Carthage and Robert (Melissa) Taylor of Hartford City; her daughter, Trudi (John) Parton of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Britney Taylor, Tiffany Taylor, Lydia Taylor, Matt (Marisa) Parton, Brock Gray and Sydney Parton; five sisters, Alma Staley of Florida, Vera Haynes, Olive (Lawrence) Smart, Joyce McIntyre all of California, and Leona (George) Thacker of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews and extended family members; and her special 4 legged companion, “McGraw”. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rev. Eldon Hunt in 2012. A Home Going Service of celebration will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street in Alexandria with Pastor Susan Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Frances F. Wimmer-Willhite
Frances F. (Jamison) Wimmer-Willhite, 66, of the Rigdon community north of Elwood, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at Marion General Hospital in Marion following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 29, 1946 in Elwood, the daughter of Elbert L. and Florence E. (Duncan) Jamison. She retired in 2012 from King Systems Co. in Noblesville after more than 26 years of service in the Research and Development department. She also formerly worked at RCA Corporation and Fleet Supply in Marion.
She formerly attended the Point Isabelle United Methodist Church, and lived in Rigdon her entire life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, watching classic TV shows, making homemade noodles, and especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren who she adored. Frances was also a very giving person and a friend to everyone, and always had a smile on her face. Frances is survived by three daughters, April M. (Mark) Beattie of Fairmount, June E. (Mark) Timmons of Frankfort, and Amanda Willhite of Fairmount; sister, Carolyn (Pete) Barton of Rigdon; brother, Jack (Janie) Jamison of Rigdon; six grandchildren, Wesley Beattie, Chad Timmons, Matthew Timmons, Jeffery Willhite, Stephen Dove, and Sydney Nelson; former spouses, Larry Wimmer and Stephen Willhite; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beverly Webb and Marilyn Kitterman; and brother, Ronnie Jamison. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Joe Seaborn officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the memorial service today at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Forrestville Cemetery in Summitville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grant County Humane Society, the Upland Boy Scout Troop #427, or the American Lung Association. Garnet E. Cunningham
Garnet E. Cunningham, 72, Alexandria passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Wesley Healthcare in Auburn, following an extended illness. She was born on Oct. 1, 1940 in Muncie the daughter of James M. Barton and Ruth (Haskett) Barton. She lived in Alexandria for approximately 14 years. Garnet had worked as a waitress at All-Star Pizza and more recently at Story’s Truck Stop in Chesterfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Clendenen of Anderson; two granddaughters; a grandson; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Marsha Damron of Muncie and Judy Kreager of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Stoneburner of Muncie and Wayne Barton of Rigdon; a step brother, Garland Barton of Yorktown; and several other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Julia Cunningham in 1996. Funeral services took place Friday, May 17, 2013 at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria with Michael W. Owens officiating. Interment followed in Bronnenberg Cemetery at Chesterfield. On line condolences:

Wilma Jean “Susie” Washburn
Wilma Jean “Susie” Wash-burn, 87, Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson following a brief illness. She was born on March 6, 1926 in Anderson, the daughter of Edwin and Grace (Sayre) Hurst. She had resided in Alexandria all of her lifetime. Wilma was a graduate of Alexandria High School the class of 1944. She later graduated from the Fort Wayne School of Business. Wilma was devoted to the family farm and her farming family. She was always anxious to get this year’s crop out. As a working farm wife and mother, she became the farm “go fer” and was always running after parts, supplies and so forth. She also made sure that her family and helpers were always fed.  Wilma was the rock and foundation of the Washburn family, and her grandchildren were special source of enjoyment for her.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Wash-burn of Alexandria and Peggy (Ed) Torok of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sons, Tim (Christy) Washburn and Dale Wash-burn both of Alexandria, her granddaughters, Jessica Washburn, Erin Bassett and Kristen Maynard; her grandsons, Michael Torok and Ryan Trimbath; great-grandchildren, Jace, Kullan, Jena, Arianna, Anwen, Asher, Kiernan and Lochlan; her brother, Robert (Mary Olive) Hurst in Solon, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, Ray Washburn in 1990, mother and father-in-law, Nellie and Samuel Washburn, and her niece, Marcia Watkins. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Interment followed in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alexandria Emergency Ambulance Fund through the funeral home.
